Apple Expected to Launch New iPad and iPhone SE 4 Before April, With Specific Release Dates Varying
According to multiple sources, Apple is set to introduce its latest iPad and iPhone SE 4 models in the spring of 2025. Bloomberg's well-regarded editor, Mark Gurman, suggests that these releases are likely to occur before April.
Leaks have indicated that the new iPad will come preloaded with iPadOS 18.3, while the iPhone SE 4 will feature iOS 18.3 out of the box. The 18.3 versions of iPadOS and iOS are currently being tested in developer channels, with an expected release date by the end of January.
The official version of iOS 18.4, set for release in April, will enable Apple's intelligent AI services for non-English languages. This timeline suggests that Apple indeed plans to launch these devices before April; otherwise, it could use over-the-air update technology to update unsold devices to the latest version directly.
In terms of iPads, Apple's spring lineup includes the iPad 11 and an upgraded version of the iPad Air. The iPad 11 is expected to feature hardware updates, such as possibly incorporating the A17 Pro chip to support Apple intelligence features.
The iPhone SE 4, resembling the iPhone 14 in appearance, is rumored to use the A18 chip found in the iPhone 16. It will have a single rear camera, which is understandable given the SE series' position as a budget-friendly option. The inclusion of the A18 chip will also enable AI functionality in the iPhone SE 4.
