Discovery+ Unveils New Pricing: What You Need to Know
The streaming video service Discovery+, a subsidiary of the American Discovery Channel, recently notified its users about a price adjustment. As is common with most streaming services, the adjustment leads to a price increase, with reductions being almost unheard of.
This price adjustment affects both the ad-supported and ad-free versions, with an increase of $1 per month or $12 per year. The new pricing takes effect immediately, but for existing users, the new rates will apply starting from February 7th.
The adjusted new prices are as follows:
- Discovery+ with ads: From $5 per month 6 per month, or $72 per year.
- Discovery+ Ad-Free: From $9 per month 10 per month, or $120 per year.
The price adjustment became effective on January 7th, local time. All new Discovery+ subscriptions activated after this date will be subject to the new pricing. For existing users, the price adjustment will begin on February 7th, 2025, and the new rates will be reflected in subsequent bills.
The adjustment also applies across all subscription channels, including but not limited to the Amazon Appstore, Apple Appstore, the Discovery+ website, Google Play, Roku, Samsung, etc.
Users can check their subscription expiration date and pricing through the respective subscription channels. New subscriptions activated through the mentioned channels will also be priced according to the latest rates.
