Leaked Slide Reveals RTX 4070 Specs and Performance Comparison with RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3070

Well-known hardware website VideoCardz has released a leaked slide comparing the upcoming NVIDIA RTX 4070 with the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3070. The slide appears to be promotional material prepared by NVIDIA in anticipation of the mid-month launch of the RTX 4070.

Preliminary Specifications

Though specifications for the RTX 4070 have already been leaked, the new slide confirms that both the RTX 4070 and RTX 4070 Ti will feature the AD104 core (based on the Ada Lovelace architecture), 12GB GDDR6X memory, and a 192-bit interface. The RTX 4070 will have 5,888 CUDA cores running at frequencies between 1,920 MHz and 2,475 MHz.

Power Consumption and Cooling

With a maximum power consumption of 200W for the RTX 4070 and 285W for the RTX 4070 Ti, the new GPUs see a significant reduction in power usage compared to the 290W of the RTX 3070 Ti. This reduced power consumption will allow AIC manufacturers to downsize cooling solutions, resulting in smaller graphics cards that can fit into compact cases.

Performance

Although the RTX 4070 uses a cut-down AD104 core, it can still deliver approximately 29 FP32 TFLOPS of compute performance, putting it on par with the RTX 3080. However, the RTX 3080 features a 320-bit memory bus and a peak bandwidth of 760GB/s, considerably higher than the 504GB/s bandwidth of the AD104 core.

Pricing

The price point of the RTX 4070 is expected to be around $599, equivalent to approximately RMB 4,120 (excluding taxes). This is a $100 increase over the launch price of the RTX 3070, which debuted at $499. The RTX 4070’s price tag matches the launch price of the RTX 3070 Ti.
