Figma Announces Price Increase: All Subscription Plans to See an Average of 30% Hike with Bundled Products
The design tool, Figma Design, recently announced in a blog post that starting March 11, 2025, it will adjust its pricing. This adjustment will result in a price increase for all its paid subscription plans, averaging around a 30% hike.
The company attributes this price increase to the significant evolution of product design since Figma's initial launch years ago. However, the billing experience has not kept pace, necessitating an adjustment to reflect the current value of the product portfolio.
Simultaneously, for team users, Figma Design is now shifting from user-driven upgrades to having upgrades pre-approved by administrators by default. Administrators will be able to view the prices for different levels of seats and the final budget.
Here's the new pricing for Figma Design:
- Viewer License: Professional / Free, Organization / Free, Enterprise / Free
- Collab Seat License: Professional $5/month, 5/month, Enterprise $5/month
- Dev Seat License: Professional $15/month, 25/month, Enterprise $35/month
- Full Seat License: Professional $20/month, 55/month, Enterprise $90/month
Viewer seats, which are free, only offer viewing and commenting capabilities; Collab seats bundle two products, FigJam and Figma Slides; Dev seats add developer mode to the Collab offering; and Full seats include all Dev seat features plus Figma Design.
This restructured licensing clearly bundles specific products with specific seats, restricting users from selecting only the features or products they need. Nonetheless, this bundling justifies Figma Design's reasoning behind the price increase.
Figma Design will notify all subscribing users via email, with the new billing coming into effect on March 11, 2025. At that point, administrators will have access to detailed billing statements.
