Google Gemini Advanced 1.5 Pro Adds Spreadsheet Upload and Data Analysis Features, Requires Subscription
Gemini Advanced is an advanced version of Google Gemini that requires a subscription for use. Naturally, since it's a paid service, Google also provides some advanced features.
Last week, Gemini Advanced was upgraded to the Gemini 1.5 Pro model, introducing the document upload feature. Now, Google has added the ability to upload spreadsheets, allowing users to perform analysis by uploading spreadsheets via a web browser or Google Drive.
The supported spreadsheet formats include:
- Tabular data files: CSV and TSV
- Spreadsheet files: XLSX
- Spreadsheets created with Google Sheets
After uploading spreadsheets, users can request Gemini Advanced to perform analysis and create interactive charts. It also supports using chart types or tags for deeper analysis, though these features will be introduced later.
Currently, users can only import tables from desktop browsers or from the cloud, and uploading files via mobile devices is not supported yet. There is also a current limit of 10 files at a time, with a maximum size of 100MB per file.
With the new spreadsheet analysis feature, users can efficiently process, explore, analyze, and visualize data, reducing the time spent on manual data analysis. Moreover, AI can provide unique insights to help users quickly understand their data.
These features are expected to be available for the free version of Gemini in the future. However, users who want to experience these features now must subscribe to Gemini Advanced.
