[Download] The Official Release of the PHP 8.4 Series, Starting with Version 8.4.1
Recently, the PHP project team announced the official release of the PHP 8.4 series. Interestingly, the first version is not PHP 8.4.0 but PHP 8.4.1, indicating that issues discovered prior to launch led to the release of a new version as the series' debut.
PHP 8.4 represents a significant version update, introducing many new features or improvements, such as attribute hooks, asymmetric visibility, an updated DOM API, performance enhancements, and a variety of bug fixes.
During the preliminary testing phase, detailed introductions of these features were already provided through the PHP 8.4.0 Beta and Release Candidate (RC) channels. Interested users can refer to the PHP release log for explanations of each new feature.
New features in PHP 8.4 are detailed here: https://www.php.net/manual/en/migration84.new-features.php
