Google is rolling out a fix through cloud servers to solve the issue of blank tabs when switching between tabs in Chrome
If you've upgraded to the latest version of Google Chrome, you might have encountered an issue in the past few days where switching between different open tabs results in the tabs appearing completely blank. This issue also comes with Chrome processes consuming a significant amount of resources.
This situation has previously occurred in the Chrome Canary version and includes instances where background tabs sometimes crash immediately upon switching back to them, requiring a refresh to load the web page content.
Following feedback from users, Google engineers investigated and confirmed the issue. As a result, the engineering team prepared an update on the server, automatically pushing this update to resolve the webpage blank issue.
Chrome users don't need to take any action; Chrome will automatically receive the update when connected to the internet. If you are still encountering the issue, manually closing and reopening Chrome should restore normal function.
Google has not yet disclosed what specifically caused the issue, but with this fix, similar issues should not reoccur in the near future.
Note: This issue should not affect other browsers developed based on the Chromium engine, such as Microsoft Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, etc.
