Intel Announces Extended Warranty Details for 13th/14th Gen Desktop Processors: i5/i7/i9 Models Covered for Up to 5 Years
Intel has once again addressed the crash and instability issues of its 13th and 14th generation Core desktop processors, promising to streamline the after-sales service process to facilitate easier CPU replacements for affected users. The company has now unveiled more details about its extended warranty offer.
For users, two options are available: contact Intel or the OEM for a CPU replacement if you're already experiencing crashes and instability, or automatically receive an extended warranty and get a replacement CPU if issues arise later on.
Due to the nature of the issues with the 13th/14th generation Core desktop processors, which could potentially cause hardware damage, Intel cannot fix the problems through microcode updates, necessitating the need for after-sales CPU replacements.
Intel has announced that these processors will now come with an additional two years of warranty, extending the total warranty period to a maximum of five years from the purchase date. This means any non-user-induced issues occurring within this time frame are eligible for after-sales support from Intel.
Processors Eligible for Extended Warranty:
- i9 Models: 14900KS, 14900K, 14900KF, 14900
- i7 Models: 14700K, 14700KF, 14790F, 14700F, 14700
- i5 Models: 14600K, 14600KF
- i9 Models (13th Gen): 13900KS, 13900K, 13900KF, 13900F, 13900
- i7 Models (13th Gen): 13700K, 13700KF, 13790F, 13700
- i5 Models (13th Gen): 13600K, 13600KF
Who to Contact for After-Sales Service?
This extended warranty applies globally to users who purchased Intel’s 13th/14th generation Core desktop processors, including those who bought retail boxed versions (who should contact Intel’s official after-sales service), those who purchased tray versions (who need to contact the retailer), and those who acquired pre-built devices (who should contact the OEM manufacturer).
If users have previously attempted to claim after-sales support from Intel without success, they are now encouraged to contact Intel's after-sales service department again for an inspection and possible CPU replacement.
Additionally, this extended warranty applies to processors already purchased, recently acquired, or to be bought in the future, effectively granting all affected models up to five years of warranty coverage. Intel is committed to resolving any non-user-induced damages within this period.
