Disney Announces New Price Increase for Streaming Services Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ Subscriptions
In recent years, the subscription prices for streaming music and video services have been on the rise, with market leaders like Netflix experiencing even more frequent price changes. Other sites with smaller market shares have also followed suit in raising their prices.
Today, the renowned entertainment company, Walt Disney, announced a price adjustment for its streaming video services including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. This price adjustment is set to take effect on October 17, 2024.
Disney also adjusted prices in October 2023, marking exactly one year to this upcoming adjustment. It raises the question of whether Disney plans to make annual price adjustments, though it seems these adjustments only ever result in price increases, as reductions are never observed.
Below are the new prices for Disney's online services in the US:
- Disney+ Basic (with ads): Increases from 7.99 9.99 per month
- Disney+ Premium (no ads): Increases from 13.99 15.99 per month
- Hulu (with ads): Increases from 7.99 9.99 per month
- Hulu (no ads): Increases from 17.99 18.99 per month
- ESPN+: Increases from 10.9911.99 per month
- Disney Basic Bundle (Disney+, Hulu with ads, ESPN+): Increases from 14.9916.99 per month

- Hulu + Live TV with SVOD ads: Increases from 76.9982.99 per month
- Hulu + Live TV without SVOD ads: Increases from 89.99 95.99 per month
However, not all subscription packages are subject to the price increase. This adjustment does not affect the Disney+ and Hulu ad-supported bundle, which remains at 10.99 per month, and the Disney+ and Hulu ad-free bundle, which remains 19.99 per month.
