Google Raises YouTube Premium Subscription Prices in Multiple Countries/Regions, Increases Up to 55%

Google has recently raised the prices of YouTube Premium subscriptions in various countries and regions. The tech giant doesn’t implement price hikes across all markets simultaneously but rather increases prices in batches across different markets.

The countries and regions affected by this price adjustment include Ireland, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Czech Republic, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Colombia, and Thailand.

In emails sent to subscribers, Google stated that the price increase will enable the company to continue delivering excellent service and features, as well as support the creators and artists that users enjoy on YouTube. This rationale mirrors the language used in previous notifications about price hikes.

Additionally, prices will be even higher for users who subscribed through the Apple IAP (In-App Purchase) system instead of the web version. For example, a screenshot shared by a Swiss user shows a price increase of up to 60%, which exceeds the increase for subscriptions made through the web version.

Subscribers will be notified via email and, following the expiration of their current YouTube Premium subscription, will be charged the new rates starting from their next billing cycle. The updated prices will be reflected in the billing statement.

Sweden:
