Microsoft Launches Xbox Game Pass Standard Subscription for $1 During Test Period
Earlier, Microsoft has revealed that it will launch Xbox Game Pass Standard subscription, the official price of which is $14.99/month, but during the test period, users can spend $1 to activate 1 month.
Microsoft has not yet stated how long the test will last, but as long as the subscription is $1/month during the test period, the subsequent renewal is also $1/month until the end of the test, and then the renewal will be $14.99/month.
It's important to note that the Standard subscription temporarily excludes day-one releases: Certain games slated to join the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate—including day-one titles and others—won't be immediately available in the Standard plan. These games might be added at a later date, potentially after a delay of up to 12 months or more, depending on the game.
Players eager for immediate access to all day-one and popular titles should consider the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate version. Although more expensive, it offers additional benefits.
Interested users can join the Xbox Insider program on their Xbox console to try out the Standard subscription for $1. This option is available within the Xbox Insider Hub app under the preview section for the Standard subscription.
However, current Xbox subscribers, such as those with more than two months left on their Xbox Game Pass Core and Ultimate subscriptions, are temporarily ineligible for the Standard subscription test. Participation is only possible within the final two months of their current subscription.
