Microsoft Says Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 Lets You Keep Up with Celebrity Gossip
With the consumer version of Windows 10 set to end support in October 2025, time is ticking for users to make the switch. In a bid to remind users and encourage upgrades, Microsoft has launched a new support page highlighting the transition to Windows 11.
Microsoft touts Windows 11 for its array of advantages and new features over Windows 10, including a revamped user interface, enhanced touchscreen support, smart recommendations in the Start menu, and the introduction of widgets.
Among the highlighted benefits of Windows 11, surprisingly, is the inclusion of celebrity gossip content.

Microsoft describes the widget feature as follows:
Widgets in Windows 11 are a new feature designed to keep you updated on everything you need to know, such as your schedule, the weather, stock market, sports scores, and even celebrity gossip.
It was unexpected for Microsoft to use celebrity gossip as a marketing point. However, even without Windows 11 widgets, users can still access this type of content, as it is included on the Microsoft Edge start page.
Content like news and gossip is provided by Microsoft MSN Start, distributed through Bing search, Microsoft Edge browser, and Windows 11 widgets.
Due to the abundance of trivial content, many users have expressed annoyance with the news and information module within the widgets. Fortunately, following regulatory action in the EU, Microsoft now allows users worldwide to disable the news and information section in widgets, offering a cleaner experience.
