Apple Blocks Methods to Bypass AI Restrictions in iOS 18.2 Beta 3, Including Nugget Software
Developers had previously discovered ways to enable Apple Intelligence services on unsupported markets and devices. However, Apple has taken note of this issue.
In the newly released iOS 18.2 Beta 3, Apple has incorporated a list of authorized devices, which only includes those that support Apple Intelligence services.
Furthermore, the pivotal tool for bypassing Apple Intelligence services, Nugget version 4.0.1, is no longer functioning correctly, with developers confirming that Apple has patched the relevant vulnerabilities.
This means users who had enabled Apple Intelligence on unsupported markets and devices cannot update their system. If they do, they will lose access to Apple Intelligence services. This limitation will extend to the official release of iOS 18.2 in December unless developers find a new workaround to bypass Apple's authentication.
Another concern is that Apple Intelligence also relies on backend servers, and it's unclear if Apple will adjust these servers to block old versions that have circumvented restrictions. If so, it might become impossible to use Apple Intelligence during that period.
