Microsoft Reminds Users to Upgrade from Windows 10 as Support Nears End
Microsoft has launched a new support page to remind users that Windows 10 Home, Home China, Pro, Pro Education, and Pro for Workstations editions will reach their end-of-support date on October 14, 2025.
This means that Microsoft will no longer provide feature improvements and security updates for these versions, leaving users who continue to use them at risk of serious security threats. With only a little over a year left until the end of support, users are advised to upgrade to Windows 11 as soon as possible.
The new support page highlights the benefits of Windows 11, compares it to Windows 10, and provides information on where to purchase new laptops that support Windows 11. Additionally, the page explains how to transfer files, photos, settings, apps, and login credentials from Windows 10 to Windows 11 using the Windows Backup app.
Microsoft has also compiled a list of frequently asked questions about the end of Windows 10 support, including what it means, what users can do with their old computers, what happens when support ends, how to upgrade to Windows 11 for free, and information about Windows 10 ESU (Extended Security Updates).
Consumers still using Windows 10 can check the support page for helpful information. However, users of Windows 10 Enterprise editions, including LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) versions, do not need to worry about these issues, as they have an extended support period.

Note 1: It's worth noting that the Windows Backup app can only back up apps installed through the Microsoft Store and cannot back up traditional Win32 software. It also does not support backing up data for most software, so users should not rely solely on this app for data migration.
