ByteDance's AI Platform Coze Introduces Paid Plans Abroad with Starting Price of $9/Month
Even a company of ByteDance's caliber cannot withstand the pressures of AI computational costs. Recently, ByteDance's popular AI platform, Coze, began charging for its overseas version. Users can still access it for free but with a low quota limit.
Coze offers users a variety of AI models, including GPT-4o, GPT-4-Turbo, and Gemini 1.5 Flash, for AI text queries or generating images from text.
Previously, the platform was free, allowing all registered users access to these models. However, ByteDance had to cover the API call fees to Google and OpenAI for free usage.
Initially attracting a vast user base with its free Coze service, the increasing number of users subsequently led to a significant rise in API call costs for Coze. Thus, Coze has now introduced a paid plan, and it's expected that a paid plan for the domestic version of Coze will be launched soon.
The free version of Coze's overseas model is now less appealing. For example, the GPT-3.5 16K version has a daily quota of 100 messages, whereas ChatGPT users can use GPT-3.5 for free.
Here are the subscription plans for Coze's overseas version:
- Free Version: 10 daily message credits, with GPT-4o 8K costing 0.5 credits per message, allowing up to 5 messages daily.
- Coze Premium: $9 per month, 100 daily message credits, unlimited GPT-3.5 usage, and up to 50 GPT-4o messages daily.
- Coze Premium Plus: $39 per month, 1,000 daily message credits, with up to 500 GPT-4o messages daily.
Users on the free version will be prompted to upgrade to a paid subscription plan if they exceed their quota, which allows continued use within the new quota limits and unlocks access to more models.
