Apple Significantly Adjusts iCloud+ Subscription Prices in Turkey, Doubling Costs for Some Plans
Due to fluctuations in the Turkish Lira exchange rate, many users opt for subscription services in regions with lower exchange rates, like Turkey, to save money. However, service providers regularly adjust their prices to respond to these changes.
This week, Apple has adjusted the iCloud+ storage subscription prices for the Turkish region, marking a significant increase. Although Apple doesn't often adjust prices, when it does, the increase is almost double the previous rates.
Note: This price adjustment applies only to new users in Turkey; the renewal prices for existing users have not changed yet, but they may be adjusted in the future.
New iCloud+ Prices in Turkey:
- iCloud+ 50GB: Now 24.99 TRY per month (previously 12.99 TRY)
- iCloud+ 200GB: Now 79.99 TRY per month (previously 39.99 TRY)
- iCloud+ 2TB: Now 249.99 TRY per month (previously 129.99 TRY)
- iCloud+ 6TB: Now 1299.99 TRY per month (previously 899.99 TRY)
- iCloud+ 12TB: Now 2499.99 TRY per month (previously 1799.99 TRY)
Family group users, who typically opt for the iCloud+ 2TB version, will now face a monthly cost of about 129.99 TRY. Although the price remains relatively cheap compared to most other markets, it's still a significant increase from the previous cost.
The good news is that, for now, users can still benefit from the favorable exchange rates in Turkey, but it's uncertain how long before Turkey tightens its policies, potentially preventing cross-region subscriptions and driving up costs in users' home regions.
