Huorong Security Adds New ARP Attack Protection Tool: Intercepting Intranet ARP Packets and Initiating ARP from Local Machines
Huorong Security has launched its latest software update, version 6.0.2.0, for personal users this week. The update includes a LAN ARP attack protection tool and a DHCP detection tool. The ARP attack protection tool is designed to guard against ARP attacks originating from within the LAN and those initiated from the local machine outward.
ARP attacks are a relatively common type of network attack. It seems that Huorong had a similar tool in earlier versions, which might have been removed at some point but has now been reintroduced.
Additionally, Huorong Security's ARP protection tool supports IP conflict interception, which may be particularly useful in enterprises, especially those smaller, non-internet companies with weaker network management.
Users interested in enhancing their network security can upgrade to the latest version of Huorong Security to access the ARP protection tool. This tool needs to run in the background continuously and will display an additional icon in the tray area due to its standalone nature.
The DHCP detection tool primarily helps diagnose issues related to the user's machine and DHCP. While this tool might not be necessary for individual and home users, some professional users may find it occasionally helpful for troubleshooting.
This update also addresses several bugs, including issues with low frame rates when scrolling through the list in the Huorong Security analysis tool, inconsistencies between the HOST file modifier's icon text and interface copy, and the problem of Office cleanup traces still appearing as "cleaning" after completion.
Users who have already installed Huorong Security can go to the homepage to upgrade to the latest version. Those who have not yet installed Huorong Security can download it to try at: https://www.huorong.cn/person6.html
