Apple Announces Extension of AppleCare+ Enrollment Period to 45 Days in Multiple Countries, Excluding China
Apple has recently made an announcement that will cheer many of its international customers. The tech giant has extended the enrollment window for AppleCare+, its extended warranty service, to 45 days after purchase in several countries. This service allows customers to enjoy extended warranty periods at considerably low repair costs for any hardware damages incurred during the warranty period.
Typically, Apple devices come with a one-year warranty, which can now be extended even after 30 days of the original warranty expiration, thanks to AppleCare+. However, in a significant update, Apple has now allowed customers up to 45 days post-warranty expiration to opt for AppleCare+, with flexible extension options ranging from 36 months to monthly plans until cancellation.
This extended enrollment opportunity is available in Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the USA. Unfortunately, this update does not apply to the Chinese market, where the enrollment period remains at 30 days post-warranty expiration.
For iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, the prepaid AppleCare+ plans are eligible for monthly or annual renewals. However, Mac devices with prepaid AppleCare+ plans can only opt for a one-time, one-year extension without monthly renewal options.
Customers who have surpassed their warranty period can check their eligibility for AppleCare+ by visiting the Apple Support website, entering their device’s serial number, and purchase date. However, not all devices may qualify for AppleCare+ renewal, and Apple does not guarantee reminders for enrollment upon expiration unless legally required.
An easier way to check for AppleCare+ eligibility is through the device settings on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Under the general settings, users can find information on AppleCare and warranties, showing whether the device is eligible for extended coverage. If it displays as ineligible, it means the 30 or 45-day window has been exceeded.
