Unleash the Force: EK and Seagate Launch Star Wars-Themed Custom SSDs
In a galaxy not so far away, EK, a water-cooling equipment manufacturer, has joined forces with hard drive manufacturer Seagate to introduce a Star Wars-themed custom solid-state drive (SSD) collection. Dubbed the Lightsaber Collection FireCuda, these SSDs prominently feature the iconic lightsabers used by the Jedi Knights.
The enduring popularity of the Star Wars saga has prompted EK to create a product line based on the famous IP, with the company currently applying for patents on the unique designs. The Lightsaber Collection SSDs come in three styles: two blue lightsabers representing Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, and one red lightsaber symbolizing one of the series' main villains, Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker).
In terms of hardware design, the SSDs boast an anodized aluminum casing coupled with a fine-textured microporous surface to enhance heat dissipation. They are built on the PCIe 4.0 protocol, offering sequential read speeds of up to 7,300MB/s. And of course, as any self-respecting lightsaber-themed product should, these SSDs feature RGB lighting. However, it appears the RGB lighting is static and does not mimic the retractable blade effect of the movie prop.
FireCuda is one of Seagate's SSD brands, with EK handling the manufacturing of the outer shell and Seagate providing the SSD components. The Lightsaber Collection FireCuda will be available in 1TB and 2TB versions, though pricing details have yet to be announced.
For fans eager to customize their PC with the power of the Force, these Star Wars-themed SSDs may be the perfect addition.
May the Force be with you!
