Microsoft Adjusts Microsoft 365 Personal and Family Subscription Prices Across Multiple Regions with Increases Up to 41%
Starting from November 1, 2024, Microsoft has implemented price adjustments for its Microsoft 365 consumer versions, which include the Personal and Family editions, with the highest increase reaching 41%.
The adjustments affect several markets, including Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Taiwan. The Chinese mainland market remains unaffected by these changes, retaining its original pricing.
Following the adjustment, users will be required to renew their subscriptions at the new rates from their next billing date. New subscribers will also be subject to the new pricing upon initiating their subscriptions, with variations in subscription costs across different markets.
For example, in the Taiwan market:
- The monthly subscription for Microsoft 365 Personal has increased from NT219 309, marking a 41% increase.
- The annual subscription for Microsoft 365 Personal has risen from NT2,190 to 3,090, also a 41% increase.
- The monthly subscription for Microsoft 365 Family has gone up from NT320 to 419, a 31% increase.
- The annual subscription for Microsoft 365 Family has increased from NT3,190 to 4,190, reflecting a 31% increase.
Microsoft cited the price adjustments as reflecting the value provided over the past decade and the introduction of innovative features in the coming years. The new pricing will take effect on the next renewal date for existing subscribers, with adjustments varying by market. For Microsoft 365 Family subscribers, the Copilot AI feature will be limited to the subscription owner and cannot be shared with others.
