Quora’s Popular Poe App Unveils Personalized AI Robots: Boosting User Efficiency with Customization

Quora, the well-known question-and-answer platform, has developed a highly popular app called Poe. By integrating the OpenAI API, Poe allows users to access GPT-3.5 on their smartphones. In a recent announcement, the development team revealed that Poe would now enable users to create personalized AI robots, significantly enhancing their operational efficiency for highly customized tasks.

In the world of AI, users often rely on prompt words to guide robots in generating answers tailored to specific requirements, such as particular formats or tones. This approach presents opportunities for AI developers to create and share prompt words for various scenarios, enabling users to achieve desired results without having to spend time experimenting.

Poe’s new feature follows a similar concept, allowing users to build exclusive robots using personalized prompt words. Quora CEO Adam D’Angelo commented:

“We’ve seen numerous experiments with LLM prompt words within the Poe community and online, and it’s astonishing how much value these prompts can unlock from language models. We hope this new feature will help those adept at using prompt words to create and share them with others, offering an easy-to-use interface for everyone to fully harness the power of AI.”

With Poe’s new AI robots, users can customize their URLs, such as poe.com/landian, and browse other robots within the community. If users come across a robot they like, they can follow it and subsequently use it in their own interactions.

For the time being, Quora plans to cover operational costs, including LLM fees, without additional charges. However, the company has noted that if the AI robots become more popular and costs rise significantly, they may introduce fees in the future.
