Devices Eligible for iOS 18 Upgrade Will Also Support iOS 19 Coming Next September
In a break from tradition, Apple's yearly iOS updates typically phase out support for older devices due to potential performance constraints. It's a well-known fact that with each update, some iPhones might start showing signs of lag, leading to a hesitance among some users to upgrade.
However, according to a recent report by the French tech site iPhoneSoft, the upcoming iOS 19, slated for release in September 2025, will not drop support for any device currently running iOS 18.
Not All Features for All Devices
Being able to upgrade doesn't guarantee access to all new features. For instance, only the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series could utilize AI functionalities in iOS 18, leaving other models without this capability.
