Apple Podcasts Launches Web Version, Allowing Users to Listen to Various Audio Content in Browsers
Unlike some companies that intentionally degrade their web versions to force users to use their apps, Apple has been progressively launching web versions of its services, enabling users to access these services online through browsers.
Apple Music and Apple TV already have web versions, and earlier, Apple Maps was also introduced to the web. Now, Apple's online audio service, Apple Podcasts, has followed suit with its own web version.
The Apple Podcasts client primarily supports iPhone, iPad, and Mac, meaning users on Windows and other systems couldn't listen to podcasts on their devices. Thus, the launch of the web version allows these users also to enjoy podcasts on Windows.
The web version indeed has fewer features; it allows users to view their saved show library and discover new podcasts, but many other functions are only available on the Apple Podcasts client, with full functionality being exclusive to Mac on desktop platforms.
However, having a web version is considerably more convenient, as users can easily switch between different podcasts and play them continuously without the need to use their phones. If Windows devices are connected to higher-quality speakers, the listening experience may even surpass that on an iPhone.
Like other Apple services, users need to register and log in with their Apple ID for database synchronization. Subscribed content can also be accessed after logging in, and it's possible to subscribe to new shows directly from the web version.
The Apple Podcasts web version supports most modern browsers, including Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. However, accessing the web version on an iPhone or iPad automatically opens the pre-installed Apple Podcasts app, meaning the web version cannot be used on these devices.

Note: Sometimes accessing the site may result in an HTTP 404 error, the reason for which is unclear.
