TerraMaster Launches 10GbE All-Flash NAS Server F8 SSD Plus, Supports Eight NVMe M.2 SSDs
NAS manufacturer TerraMaster recently introduced the F8 SSD Plus for high-end users, a fully flash-based NAS server that exclusively supports NVMe M.2 solid-state drives, significantly enhancing NAS performance.
The F8 SSD Plus is equipped with an Intel Core i3 N305 processor, with a maximum frequency of 3.8GHz. It supports various decoding formats including H.264, H.265, VC-1, MPEG-4, with support for up to 4K resolution at 60FPS.
By default, it comes with 16GB of DDR5 non-ECC memory, featuring a single memory slot. However, users can upgrade to a single 32GB DDR5 non-ECC memory stick for improved performance.
A standout feature of this NAS is its eight M.2 SSD slots, without support for 2.5/3.5 inch SSDs or HDDs, limiting users to M.2 solid-state drives with a maximum capacity of 64TB, and a single SSD supporting up to 8TB.
Given its all-flash nature, network speeds are crucial; the F8 SSD Plus includes one 10GbE port and three USB 3.2 x 10Gbps ports, allowing for fast data transfer over the network or via USB.

Review from Landian.news:
The TerraMaster F8 SSD Plus is an excellent NAS server, though it may be unnecessary for most users, as NAS servers are often left running long-term while the frequency of handling large data volumes is not as high for the average user.
This NAS is more suited for video editing teams, offering exceptional read/write speeds with M.2 SSDs and a 10GbE network card. Video editing teams can mount the NAS as a local disk, performing all file operations directly on the NAS, which also benefits from NAS RAID for data protection against disk failure.
Considering the cost, not just of the NAS itself but also the eight M.2 SSDs, it's an investment. While regular users might just browse, video editing teams or businesses using it as an OA/CRM server should consider purchasing.
