Microsoft Begins Rolling Out New Name and Logo for Microsoft 365 - And It's Not Pretty
Previously, Landian.news mentioned that Microsoft planned to complete the rebranding of the Microsoft 365 suite by around January 2025. The main purpose of this renaming is to highlight the Microsoft Copilot artificial intelligence brand. So, how does this highlight the brand?
The answer is by directly incorporating Copilot into various products. For example, Microsoft 365 has been renamed to Microsoft 365 Copilot, and this change is already underway, with some users receiving push notifications from Microsoft.
If you are a subscriber to Microsoft 365, you can expect to see similar notifications soon when you start the app. There is a slight difference for enterprise users; it is known that the enterprise subscription version of Copilot will be renamed Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat.
Here are the main changes:
- The standard version of Microsoft 365 is renamed to Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- The enterprise subscription version of Microsoft Copilot is renamed to Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat.
- The Microsoft Copilot URL has been changed to M365Copilot.com.
- Office.com will redirect to M365.Cloud.Microsoft.
- Microsoft365 will redirect to M365.Cloud.Microsoft.
This renaming is quite abstract, so developer @FireCube created a new image, which very aptly fits the scenario. It's not far-fetched to wonder if the future of Windows 11 will be Windows 11 Copilot or Copilot 11 OS.
